History
Orsum was been built over a four year period and was launched in August 1999. It is 15.5 metres of perfection with the interior finished in oiled teak and leather. Much of the design, preparation and building work has been carried out by the owner and skipper of MV Orsum, with time being taken to ensure that the final product is of the highest quality possible. Because of the personal involvement with the development of the project, MV Orsum exhibits many features that make it stand out with respect to other pleasure and fishing charter vessels.
The game seasons are very successful for the Orsum Charters crew and they are eagerly awaiting the beginning of the 2003 game season in November when the yellow fin tuna should begin to appear off Whakatane. A sample of our successes can be viewed in the Trophies section of this webpage.
We have also provided several very successful charters for corporate events and special occassions. These events have included corporate lunch cruises in the Tauranga Harbour, birthday celebrations and a black tie evening to welcome in the new year.
While the past three seasons have been very successful in the Bay of Plenty region, the Orsum Charters crew have experienced even greater successes fishing from the Bay of Islands to the Three Kings, North of New Zealand. Orsum is looking forward to the season spent chartering around the Bay of Plenty and the Three Kings Islands, where they expect to see some of the best game fishing action New Zealand or the world has to offer. We hope that you'll join us!
